Rifle Scopes Best tactical scope rings?

I need to buy the best scope rings for the money. I need to save as much as possible but my burris xtr rings just broke after there first outing. i might return them for a full money back and then buy a new pair or just get them to replace them. If i were to buy a new pair i dont know what to get but i dont want to spend a ton!

any thoughts?

I've seen some rings break, but nothing halfway decent like the Burris XTR's. I've only seen cheap ass rings like Weavers and other similar cheap rings break. So like the others, I'm curious as to how you broke the XTRs?

Can't go wrong with Badger. Just think, the rings are the only thing in between your rifle and your optics. Best not to skimp... My .02.




x3 or 4 or 5 on how in the world did you break yours???

i mounted my scope the last friday and i took her out to the range yesterday. I fired 15 rounds and had to call it a day due to weather. Everytime i take my guns out i always check to make sure nothing is wrong that includes making sure the rings are tight (using only my fingers to twist). i put it away and today before going back to the range i made sure the gun was all good and i began to check the scope. everything looked good untill i got the the front screw on the base of the ring (which grips onto the base) the bolt and screw broke as i checked if they were tight. No way i have that much strength to break the screw. I think it was just a faulty screw.

Everyone makes mistakes and i think there was just a fault in the screw or something and dont blame burris. I think i will be returning them and giving them another shot and if the same thing happens is when i will step up and purchase probably the badger max 50 or some seekins rings.

You should be able to call Burris customer service and they'll mail you a new ring screw or two; they did no questions asked with some Signature Zee rings I bought used that were missing a screw.

You "checked" with a torque wrench, right?

I find my XTR's to be unbreakable so far. My father was putting my rings on for me, and mistaken a foot pound wrench for a inch pounds wrench. Dont ask lol. But who knows how much he actually over torqued the rings, but he was spinning them for a while. The rings still work fine. Last time I let him touch my shit
