I’ve been running and have been largely satisfied with the Harris BRM bipod on my .308 bolt guns.
Wondering if there is a better choice for .338LM and .50 rifles?
Both are AI.

Thanks!

I've done quite a few bipods on the AI rifles & here is my take on it:

Elite Iron: One of the best if you want to shoot from a rock solid platform and don't care as much about weight or deployment time.
Atlas: Good if you need lots of positioning options for the legs and deployment time is not super important
Harris: BRM-S with an aftermarket tensioner, one of the best for speed of deployment
Original AI spigot mount AW bipod: Great for being "authentic" or taking very quick shots on rocky / uneven terrain, but near impossible to get rock steady with.

I love my LRAs (I have two). One is the F-Class and its a bit more low slung; the other is the tactical. They are both super solid, can handle a huge rifle (I'm using one on my 30-325 lb 2 mile rig). they mount to a rail, not a post. They are spendy, but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

Oh yeah! I have the "Light Tactical" I think it is... LRA is THE way to go for the .50 but I do like that Fortemeir or whatever it is up above, never seen one before but it looks solid too.

The LRA is IMO what the Atlas could have been, only much bigger. Works like an Atlas but much stronger, better built.

Recoil doesn't phase it and there's nothing to bend or flex on these. Folks use 'em on 20mm Vulcan too FWIW, and it handles those 100lb. rifles no problem.

It's also big enough that it doesn't look like a matchstick holding up a cinder block.

That is a excellent summary of exactly what I was after!

A while back, eBay had some weird 20% off anything sale. I grabbed an LRA F-Class sight unseen for my 338. It was a very good decision. The thing is bulletproof and does an amazing job of stabilizing my heavy-ass LR rig. If I had to buy another bipod for a LR rig, I would totally pay full price for the LRA today. Only thing I don’t like is you gotta pay a few extra clams for the qd mount.

Not meaning to derail the thread but...

For those of you running LRA bipods, anyone have any contact info? I have some questions and need some parts for mine. For the life of me, I can't seem to track down the company's phone or email. Closest I've been able to come is an address in Pennsylvania but as I'm on the other side of the country it's not exactly practical for me to stop by...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

@alwaywatchyoursix

LRA has been sold and as someone asked in the other thread...Not sure anyone has a LRA bipod from the new company yet. So it might be hard to get the parts you are needing for your older one, BUT then it may be simple.

Here is the only contact information I have.

Sincerely,
Theis

Well, that explains why last time I couldn't find any info on them. And pretty certain that website didn't exist last time I was looking for info.

And yeah, you got me, I didn't read the other thread...will definitely do so now.
