I’m looking to pick up a thermal scope for my 223 AR. It will be used for predator hunting within 250 yards. I’ve narrowed it down to these two and am searching for the best deal between them. Any preference between the two? Have you found a good deal on one?

No dog in this fight, but I have two acquaintances that have a fair amount of experience with the Bering Optics stuff and recommended them frequently.

I would get the Hogster because its got a 4 year warranty vs. 3 on the AGM. Both on paper are comparable but I feel the Hogster is a little more proven and definitely have great customer support should you need it. All that said, I'm running am AGM ASP TM35 scanner that I've had zero issues with and for the price offers an amazing value and good performance.

One of the bigger items not talked about is service. Bering Optics provides service on any of their thermals during and after warranty. Since the Rattlers and Taipan are imported in from China, when I had checked there was no service option only replacement while under warranty. This may have changed but Night Goggles had me check this when we were considering carrying AGM. The Hogsters are assembled, supported and serviced in the US. If you have any questions on the Bering Optics thermals, send me a PM and we can chat on the phone as I have used all of them. As already mentioned, Bering Optics has a 4-year transferrable warranty.

I have the 35mm Hogster. I had it for less than a year but so far so good. If I were to get another thermal anytime soon I would look at another Bering Optics model or one of the IRAY models.

Have the Rattler 35 and have looked through a Hogster 35. The image on the Rattler had better contrast (OLED vs LCOS I bet), and I preferred the menu on the Rattler.

Based on current info, I would choose which ever was in stock at the best price...
