I am currently collecting donations for a 5k run called Tunnels to Towers. If you are not aware of it please check out the site...

This Tunnels to Towers 5k is being held in Medina OH on September 8 and all proceeds go to building a smart home for one of our wounded warriors, PFC Kyle Hockenberry. Kyle lost both legs and an arm in an IED blast last year in Afghanistan. My personal donation campaign is in honor of GySgt Robert Gilbert II. Gunny's story... http://militarytimes.com/valor/marine-gunnery-sgt-robert-l-gilbert-ii/4548396
So I set my goal at $1000 and donations were coming in but it looked like we would not reach the goal. I was posting donation requests on Facebook and then received a call from Tony Burkes from TAB Gear. Tony simply asked me about the foundation and what my goal was, then he simply said not to worry and that I would reach my goal. Tony and his wonderful wife April donated $715, then Tony's father, Loy Burkes donated another $500, minutes later Frank Galli here at Sniper's Hide threw in $250. I was blown away. I know the Burkes family and Frank did not donate for any recognition and they may be a little irritated that I am making a big deal out of this generosity but I can not keep it quite. Thanks TAB Gear, Loy Burkes and Frank Galli!
PFC Hockenberry's home is 69% funded right now. If you would like to help out please donate at this link...

This isn't going to be any old 5k run. Military, LE, Fire, EMS personnel typically will run it in their "work gear". That mean Mil will run in full kit, FF in bunker gear etc... I will be running in my full SWAT kit, boots, uniform, heavy vest, pistol belt etc... Hopefully it helps raise awareness to those who have sacrificed.
