Looking into doing a new build (possibly two) debating on a Bighorn Origin. Just looking to do a custom build on a budget. I want to do a SA and eventually a LA. Any information on these actions would be appreciated, pros/cons, likes/dislikes. TIA.

Try a search, its been discussed ad nauseum.

TL;DR - one of if not the best value actions on the market, with the biggest gripe I've seen (other than lack of available stock) being the swept bolt handle.

This right here is pretty much all you need to know. If you can live with the swept bolt handle, you really can't beat the Origin. I bought a TL3 and later got an Origin. If I were to buy more Zermatt actions...I'd have to think long and hard about a reason to get another TL3 over another Origin.

Yup great budget action. Also the ability to change the bolt face so you can make that short action a .223 bolt face, .308 and a short magnum on the same action.

I went with the tl3 as I figured I’d always wonder if it was better. I have since handled an origin for a relatively short period of time and I can say it seems to be a lot of action for the money. Feels very similar to the tl3 at a much reduced cost! I am 100% satisfied with my tl3, but I’d feel confident in getting the origin. I do also own a kelbly atlas tactical and for roughly the same price as the origin it should not be over looked!!

I am also considering an origin. I really like the advantages of the ability to switch the bolt face, and have a switch lug for multi calibers. I seem that no matter who I ask no one has any issues with the origin.
