Looking to pick up a short action SR3 with Wyatt cut. Apparently the feed rails are wider to accomodate the short mag cases better. Question is does anyone have one that's also running a standard 308 bolt head with 308 based cases or other cartridges that run off the 308 bolt head? If so do they feed ok. This of course would be using the appropriate Wyatt mag boxes for each caliber in a hinged floor plate.

I'm going to answer your question with the opposite setup. I have an origin which only comes with the standard feed rails. I have the bottom opened for a Wyatt's extended but feed rails are unmodified. Running a Wyatt's box and follower for PRC and it feeds well. Sometimes the follower gets stuck, but that has nothing to do with the feed rails. If you're planning on running more than one size cartridge I would just check with big horn to see what they recommend. Might make sense to get standard feed rails and a mag bolt face or something.

Apparently when you order a SR3 with the Wyatt cut it automatically comes with the feed rails modified for the short mag based cartridges, (a bit wider and maybe a bit shorter?). My fear is that the feed rails will not be wide enough when running a Wyatt extended box like a MBE-4 for 308 based case and the rounds will just pop out.
I don't think you'll be able to run 308 in the MBE4 as that's setup for WSM cartridges. If I try to load 6.5 creedmoor in my MBE4 with a PRC follower they pop out, and that's with the correct feed rails. If you get a 308 box and follower you're closer, but as you said above, feed rails might be too wide. Can't help there, but you'll definitely need a different box and follower to change case sizes.
Wyatt's cut SR3's have the bolt stop and ejector pocket moved .110" rearward to accommodate the extended boxes.
I have the Wyatt cut on the SR3 in a long action as I paired to with the Wyatt bdl internal box and follower for the 300 prc. Big horn is awesome. Wyatt makes a short action box
