I used a set of Leupold BX-5 Santiam 15x56 binos on a tripod while scoring at our state 600yd prone matches this past Saturday. Very much prefer using binos to score & spot with, due to less eye strain while using both eyes. Was very impressed with how well these binos showed trace. Overall, I'm at least as pleased as I'd hoped to be by these - and at an adjusted MSRP of $1150, I think they're an excellent buy.
I took along my Kowa 661 for use while shooting the iron sight portion of the match - they're still fine & dandy for that, and the Kowa LER eyepiece is the standard to compare all others to IMHO.
