Amazing set of binos. Worth every Penny, and buy whenever available!Fuck!
Ive been thinking I want "a little bit more magnification" and the sharpness of a center wheel focus to upgrade just a bit from my Steiner 8x30Rs.
Knowing there is a sale and these have been "Non Poor Verified" I may have to see what @gr8fuldoug is hawking them for.
OP - the 8x32Mil Rs are a bomb proof option also - great size, excellent hand holding ability, very fast scan type viewing due to the "sport focus" feature - only down side is when you find that "thing" you want to focus on you may not get complete "sharpness" unless you dick with the ocular focus.
Wish I had of bought the set of 10s @Bigfatcock was PXing 6 or so months ago.
@TheGerman
These binos or one of those Danish Ballistic high cuts?
I have no helmet (doesnt mean Im an anteater) but Im more likely to use binos..........

Night Vision - Helmets! Helmets everywhere! Which is best for NODs?
Welp... like many of you, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect (ballistic) helmet setup for use with NODs. I have a small stable of virtually every make, model, and type of ballistic helmet ever made. I’ve progressed through the Jurassic period with PASGT and MICH2000, tried the Chinesium...www.snipershide.com
Might be this one.
That looks ok after putting 4D pads in it. Thing is, do you actually need a ballistic helmet? Hell, I didnt even wear a ballistic.
But if you have zero helmet and have nightvision, well, you need some sort of helmet. If you have a helmet, I'd say stick with the helmet you have unless its not meant for a NV shroud.
Also depends what your plan and use is. Mostly daytime? Binos. Mostly night? Helmet. Otherwise...get both.
I've been running that model (in the original post) of Steiners for a while.
I find them to be extremely useful and haven't found a superior replacement for scanning and spotting, hiking or matches.
Highly recommended.
Very useful, very versatile optic.
I've got my eyes on these as well as the m1050r model (should have better glass, but you know, steiner marketing sucks, so who knows). How are they for gauging mil corrections at matches? I use a pair of 15x56 Cronuses right now, but am thinking of upgrading eventually, or just adding another pair like the steiners on the tripod.
Is the glass in the T1042s the same as the T1042Rs?
I’ve been looking at the T1042s and after a hiccup with Steiner’s Online Store I now have a 30% off coupon. Looks like I could get them for $350 if they ever come back in stock
If you were to be particular, you might feel they're a little coarse.
I run them off a bagged tripod, and they are easy to adjust to get measurement between the target and point of impact.
I get more concrete information out of them over any other optic that I've used...
But that might be user error with some of the more clear, higher power spotters out there with reticles. I'm not as quick to adjust hard-mounted optics (tripod-mounted spotters), and the narrower field results in me struggling to find things.
