Bipod Alternative

I can't bring myself to install a stud on a rifle.

I've been shooting off my pack, but was wondering if you guys could recommend something else.

Portability isn't a huge concern. I'm just looking for something to use at the range and occassionaly for critters.

I'm not sure if this is really what your interested in, but I have seen bi-pod's that will clamp to your barrel.

Years ago I used to have one that had a spring to keep the bi-pod closed over the barrel. Looking online they also have barrel bi-pods that will clamp directly to your barrel.

Again, not sure if that is something your interested but thought I'd mention it.

In a precision rifle, NEVER clamp a bipod to your barrell.

Get a big wedgie from Triad Tactical, lets you adjust for different heights.

No sling, no studs.

Maybe it came out of the Remington factory on a Tuesday after a 3-day weekend.

You really need a sling. They are for more than walking with the gun. Don't touch the barrel if you are trying for accuracy.

I love my PRS tripod. Here lately I am using it more than my bipods.

I'd say continue shooting off the bag but get a small bean bag for the rear to adjust elevation.

buy a front rest............Cowan, Rock BR, Sinclair....i mean, they're a shitton better than a bipod anyways, so why not?

I shoot in the field(hunting) from a slik mini tripod with a stoney point head/rest. Super light and adjusts from sitting or down flat to prone (9"). And can swap head in a sec with my spotting scope. I much prefer it to a bipod attached to the rifle for the field.
