There is no doubt that the Harris has been used to good effect in F TR... I know of 2 shooters using a Harris to place very high in the World Championships individual shooting.
But in general, as in 95+%, don't.
If you can keep all your shots on a calm day inside a 1/2 min target at 600yds and 1000yds, whatever your set up... it's working.
Harris is certainly not the easiest bipod to shoot itty bitty groups at LR with. If you can do it, awesome. There are a variety of skipod options because they are simply far easier to use.
Just keep an eye on the overall rifle weight. Bipod weights range from 13oz (MPOD) to several lbs.
