Re: bipod help

Three options...Atlas, Atlas and...what was the third...oh yeah, ATLAS!!

Seriously, you owe it to yourself and your friend to check out the Accu-Shot Atlas bipods.

Re: bipod help

Atlas is a great bipod, to be sure. Right now, though, they're in rather short supply -- long lead times and etc.

An alternative, to me at least, is the Harris bipod. I've regularly used them for shots out to around 900+ yards, and they do the job. I have one on my Savage 10FP, my Stag Arms AR-15, and my CZ 452 Varmint (.22 LR). I have a "spare" which at the moment is on my 1903A3 Springfield.

Check 'em out at Harris Bipods

Re: bipod help

Agreed. Just ordered an atlas from triad last week. They still have some. They are $270 now though. . . (For lever, out of clamp on)

If $279 is pricey for a gift (completely understandable), the harris notched, swivel is a perfectly useful bipod. Been in use for a long time and I am perfectly happy with the two I have. I prefer my atlas, but there is nothing wrong with my harris.

Re: bipod help

nly205....pricey yes but considering that he bought me a Springfield Armory 40 for my 40th bday it's the least i can do.
thanks again everyone for the advise

+1 for this

Re: bipod help

I only have the throw lever version in stock at this time, so it may have been an issue if you tried to order one that was out of stock. Other than that the site is working as of a few moments ago.

Re: bipod help

Find the most expensive one out there and buy that. Thats usually the kind of products that are most often recommended here. The most expensive.

I personally use a Harris and im perfectly happy with it.

Re: bipod help

The Atlas is great, and Kasey has been really great on the hide, he's always around to answer questions and help people out, he's gone above and beyond for several members. He does need to get working on that TRG spigot though!

That said the Harris is a great functional bipod and you can almost always find a like new used one around for $50. The podloc is a really nice accessory for it. I still use both, I prefer the Harris for my hunting rifles where I prefer to have a taller bipod like the 13-23" or 13-27" version as with undulating terrain and grass etc. the super short prone bipods just don't cut it.

+1 I don't think you'll hear any argument on this from anyone here who has dealt with Kasey and Kody

"It is easy to fool some of the people part of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time!"

There's a bloody good reason Atlas is a hands-down, almost unanimous recommendation here! At some point you have to accept that Kasey has an awesome product. It may be seen as expensive by some, but in this case the product DELIVERS! Period!

Steve, good choice. "Buy once, cry once!"

If your mate is not totally thrilled with such a gift - punch him in the mouth and keep it yourself!!

I used to be perfectly happy with Harris too.

The best is most often recommended here. The best is derived from experience. The best often comes at a premium...just the way life is, but the best is not always the most expencive.

How often have you seen people recommend an AI bipod over an Atlas? How about a Sako? There are more expencive bipods out there, but, I have yet to find any better than the Atlas at any price point...sorry if you have a problem with that.
