hey team. Looking for advice on a SOLID bipod to go in front of my Savage MSR 10 hunter 6.5CR (20" barrel and MLok handguard). I tried the Magpul bipod, and the thing seems nice so I mounted it. The cant and pan are smooth & strong. But there is play in the bipod legs, particularly when adjusting the rifle in & out of my shoulder. There is enough play for me to keep looking for another product with better fit & finish.

Atlas V8 bipod comes to mind, but not cheap. Harris is another, but I'm not excited about external springs, etc. I'd like a streamlined design.

Thanks for your input.

IMO, Thunderbeast is the best out there. The features are awesome. I ran it on my match gun last couple of matches. Best of all is the friction lock on the cant, set it and it is smooth. Or, lock it down when level.

Modular Evolution is also an awesome bipod. I run it hunting. Super simple. Www.longrangeonly.com sells a kit for it.

My favorite "budget" bipod is the Sinclair tactical. I ran it for a year.

Harris with podlock is the minimum.

I’ve got the Harris BRMS and Atlas BT46 LW 17 both with quick release mounts. The Harris is fast to deploy. The Atlas has more flexibility with positions. I’ve been eyeing the Thunderbeast for future purchases.

Thunderbeast looks nice, but its closing in on 1lb. I think I'll save my pennies for the BT46. they just released an mlok mount for it, to keep it at 11oz vs the picatinny QD at over 13oz.

How often do you guys remove a QD bipod when on a hunt or a shoot?
