Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

See I am the opposite ( probably because I am older than most here) I have had multiple versions of Harris and shot at most of them. Went to Atlas, original was better than Harris, but Cal was much better, went to Cykepod and like then the a whole lot better. Most of the time bought an Accu-tac which I absolutely hated, not as much as a Harris, but close. Still chasing one for pure solid bench work, gonna try a newer version if the atlas.

I love my Accu-Tac, but I also value quick deployment of my bipod as much as I value a fast re-holster of a handgun.

My biggest problem was the legs required too much effort to swing into place. Be it where they are mounted but having to pull ( hard) straight out towards the muzzle was just not worth any more frustration. Offered it to my athletic 19yr old son and he suggested we play turkey wishbone with it..

If the TBAC didn’t have its built-in bit of slop/play it would be my favorite (as it’s mostly like a beefier/nicer Harris).

If the Accu-Tac’s cant tension adjustment wasn’t so “all or nothing, no in-between” I’d live with them being a little clunkier to deploy.

The wider stance is really the biggest thing I sometimes envy about the pricier bipods as compared to the Harris, as the wider stance does inherently have the potential to be more stable. I just don’t happen to like having slop/play that I’ve got to always live with, and being forced to adjust my shooting style to always load them up and take out the slop/play. For me, any added slop/play seems to “cancel out” any benefit from the wider stance or cool tricks most of the fancier ones offer. YMMV.

I’ll agree with this. I had the HD50 for a while. For sure a solid bipod

One thing I remember about the Accutac was the spring loaded legs. If you pressed the button to lower it the leg it collapsed entirely with some authority. At least from my memory it was the Accutac that did that. I’ve owned a lot of bipods so I may be incorrect.

OT: It’s not for the OP’s use of hunting, but you dudes should try a LRA. The F-class Lite Tactical I own is probably my best pure bench bipod (EI is close). The cant is finely adjustable too, and it totally locks off. There’s a little play in it, but I load it gently and it goes away (it’s NOT flexy).

This one or the picatinny version.

Edit: @hafejd30 I know you like the Atlas legs. The LRA legs are inverted like the Atlas legs; they are protected from mud intrusion, but are way easier (for me) to operate than the Atlas. Especially when behind the gun.

That latest Warne Pro bipod that a few guys have mentioned does look pretty interesting: https://warnescopemounts.com/skyline-pro-bipod/

I don't know shit about Warne really, though their stuff seems to have a good rep for being solid. Not sure I feel like betting ~$500 on one just yet as I suffer from early adopter PTSD (thanks Glock Gen4), but I hope I run into one at a match or the club to check out.

I’m intrigued by your Dauntless bipod and based on your description it sounds like it would be well suited to NRL Hunter and some of the positions we find ourselves needing to take a shot from. I’m currently using a Double Pull but there have been times I wished I had a little more height.

I realize it hasn’t been released yet but do you have any videos that show all the features it offers?

some quick videos as promised
