Weird that the Americans report being paid up to $8.25 per hour but were replaced with foreign workers that are paid up to $12 per hour. This kind of shoots a hole in the 'cheaper foreign labor thread.' The visa program, to my knowledge, bars companies from undercutting available American labor with visa holders at lower wages. But, this lawsuit may be long row to hoe if the foreign laborers are actually paid more than the Americans they replaced.

That said, I would prefer that Americans work American jobs.

H2A and dealing with the government is a pain in the ass. If we could rely on local labor we would........we can't. You can pay a foreign worker 75% more money and get 200% more actual production from them, it is like hiring three people for the cost of 1.5.

I had the opportunity to travel to ‘The Delta’ for work a few times. The husband of the lady I was working with was the manager of a Family Dollar Dist. Center. She said he couldn’t keep workers to unload trucks. They’d show up for a week or 2, get a check and ghost. Show back up a few weeks later and wonder why they didn’t have a job. The delta is, bar none, the most poverty struck region of the country. And, it is predominantly self inflicted.
