Ran my SR25 today with some brand new (very recent manufacture) BH 175gr. .308 Win. MATCH. Checked out some ejected brass and saw some signs of high pressure - severely cratered primers and even some material being pushed into the ejector hole on the bolt face. Anybody else seeing this????

Chris- Contact Tigerbikes. He was having similar issues with BH from his GAP built AR10. Might want to compare lot numbers.

I suspect the problem you experience is not with the ammo, but instead, with careless regard in firearm design; the firing pin hole in the bolt face is too large -- considering the powder burn rate in that ammo, and the primer cup hardness.

Measure the firing pin tip. If its Mil-spec, its likely .077". A size that works is .065". Due to either carelessness or ignorance, manufacturers aren't making a better firing pin of the smaller size that endures fatigue - I suspect - so they continue with the larger sloppy size because it resists breaking at the tip. And the tip needs to be profiled like the sharp end of the lead of a pencil, rather than shaped like a nipple. Are designers really that stupid? Evidently!

John Paul, and JP Enterprises, and I talked about this last week. His company will reduce the hole of his Enhance Bolt with an accompanying pin. I hope he also makes an accompanying barrel extension and firing pin of the same Rockwell hardness as the bolt, and polishes the extractor and bolt face.

That would a truly, "enhance" bolt done right.

Remember: I'm not saying I'm right - just suspicious.
