Love mine.
Have all four calibers.

I got one with 22-250 and 308 barrel. Extremely accurate gun. It will shoot with any of my custom builds. Just hard to find parts and mags for them now.
The gun does have a unique look to it. But it is one of the most comfortable guys to get behind.
I got a used Tac2 308 early this year after trying a friends new R8 model.
I would've gotten an R8, but it's a hunting rifle and I wanted a true detachable mag fed rifle.
The push pull bolt is different, but it works and is alot quicker than a turn bolt.
The rifle is the most accurate factory tactical rifle I've shot.
I don't really care about a rifles looks, as long as it shoots good.
Parts are expensive, if you can find them.
I read that blaser fired 35,000 rounds testing a Tac2 barrel and it still shot 1/2 MOA or better.
If you can get one for a good price with a low round count and it has some magazines, go for it.

I just can't out an accurate dollar amount on the one I saw for sale recently. I've never seen any used for sale.
It was a 2003 I think in 300 Winmag with 256 rounds thru it, he said. But anyone can say any gun has XXXXXXX count, who's to know?

Shoots100 is testing one of my new 308 10 round prototype magazines, which makes it viable for PRS. So far so good! Almost done with the 2nd mag.
I too bought one of those Virginia sourced LEO rifles from mile high that had 4-5k rounds down the pipe and still shoots as good as new. I have another newer 308 barrel with only a few hundred rounds on it and it's identical. Something about the plasma nitriding, hammer forging, chromo instead of SS, etc. that makes it last.
I'd say you can pick up a used Tac2 for anywhere from 2000 to 4000. There are a few brand new ones out there still, and they are usually 4000. Very very difficult to get certain parts. Finding barrels are the biggest problem on the Tac2.
The LRS2 was the small shank version (29mm as opposed to 34mm) and they take standard R93 barrels which are much easier to find. No 338 Lapua on the LRS2 though.
All of the Blaser tac rifles were designed for European military competition shooting (UIT and CISM) in the early 90's. The first generation versions used a machined aluminum stock and when SIG bought Blaser in 1997 they wanted to market it to LEO and Military. After getting multiple complaints about the first gens from customers (especially the magazines which were terrible) SIG had Blaser redesign and "ruggedize" the stock, making it into a glock polymere overmold style. They copied the dimensions of the original stock almost exactly.
I think they could have been a contender in PRS but the situation with SIG and all the drama put an end to it, and just as PRS went popular the problems started back in 2014. Hopefully there is a future because these things can compete.

If it's not scratched up and has the monopod and a few stock spacers and it's been taken care of then I would say around $3000 is a very good deal, some have gone on GB recently for as low as $2500 that are similar. If it was cherry than maybe $3500.

Yup, nicest range in the world! I sold my RPR in 6.5CM a few years ago to a guy that shoots there.
Be careful, as once you shoot it, you'll want one !
Now that DGF is making some 10 round prototypes for me, I'm anxious to see what it can do in PRS.
The magazine has performed stellar in my tests, so it should hold up.

It depends what the rifle comes with, but as DGF stated, $3k is a good price for a bare bones rifle.
Most individuals who own them keep a good record of rounds fired, not so with LE or Military.
Mine was a used LE rifle with approx 3-4K rounds through it, but it still shoots lights out.
I wouldn't sweat 256 rounds. It's pretty much brand new.

This was with an LRS1 (the green rifle in the above pics) with 3500 rounds on it, during a load development so different .5 grain increments. With Blaser accuracy is top shelf but longevity is beyond anything out there. Maybe not quite as precise as a newly cut broken in Bartlien (or other premium cut rifled) but it's extremely consistent and lasts and lasts. Still have yet to find the ceiling.
It was originally designed to shoot through a diopter site in a competition kind of like some NRA high power disciplines. Prone, kneeling, standing single shot fed at 300m with all kinds of shooting clothing, etc. Makes more sense if you see the rifle in it's original form. Blaser did not design it for tactical use initially.

I think the Blaser Tac 2 is a very slick rifle, BUT, I would not get one because Blaser isn't making barrels or parts for the Tac 2 anymore. One of the guys I shoot with is a SWAT officer who uses a 308 Tac 2 as his duty rifle and is going to replace it because the barrel has almost 8000 rounds through it and he can't get another barrel. There is a guy in the US that said he could make one, but he didn't want to do it for a police duty rifle because of liability and the fact that he'd never made a Tac 2 barrel before, he'd only made them for the R series Blasers.
Yeah I have been contacted by several LEO's because of the issues recently, all looking for a solution. Was your friend in the San Diego area?
The guy making barrels is Elmer Laitalia and he does an amazing job but only for R93 small shank 29mm barrels (he also does R8 barrels). His work is sublime, I have a 6x47 Lapua barrel he made me. I tried to convince him to tool up to make Tac2 barrels but he doesn't have the interest in doing so.
I was working on a special adapter to take an existing 29mm R93 barrel and adapt it to a Tac2 chassis, but it's been almost impossible to find a machine shop willing to get the kind of tolerances right for it and stay within any kind of reasonable budget in small production. Me being basically an enthusiast, it was also tons of pressure to produce something usable for that kind of service right out of the gate; too much liability.
The story with Blaser and Sig is very long and complicated. Tac2's were still being made until recently in Isny to service some older military contracts but now there are some rumors that it's stopped completely. Sig cannot import anymore and the German government has also put some restrictions on it for civilian sales, so it's looking worse and worse. Some US distributors are trying to ask if Blaser will import parts but so far it has not happened.
Yes, my friend is in the San Diego area so you've already been in contact. Shame about the parts situation, like I said his Tac 2 is a great rifle, but if you can't get parts, it isn't worth making such a large investment in it.

I have one (LRS2 ).308 and 300 Win. mag. They have fantastic ergonomics and last forever. I bought a spare bolt for both cal. on Ebay. In My experience finding parts for most non Remington 700 and similar based rifles is hard once they are out of production for several years.
Hey guys hope everyone is well. I recently purchased a blaster tac 2 with 100 rounds through it and I love the gun. Only issue is I have is that it came with one mag and I need more. If there’s anyone out that that sells after market mags please let me know. I’ve been offer very good money for the gun because of how unique it is, but I haven’t got the heart to let it go cause of its accuracy and great looks. Please help!!!!
I had several mags (308 and 300WM) and sold them on Ebay and Gunbroker. They are getting harder to find as You probably already know.
I know it’s crazy, even harder me living in Canada. It’s like I should almost sell the thing, but it shoots so good
