Report from behind enemy lines. SO yesterday we had our quarterly meeting and a special guest on our diversity and inclusion efforts.
The latest go-to is that it is not enough to be not racist, you must be actively anti-racist in our corp. Meaning you must actively campaign for minority rights and causes. Having read up on this whole 'non-racist' vs anti-racist thing--these are the same people that argue that a Capital Gains Tax cut is racist because it benefits white people more than black people (white people being more likely to hold stocks).
We are being forced to be "allies", which on the surface seems good--treate everyone well. Except, being an ally means you support the cause and are not allowed to question because of your 'privilege'. Since our exectuvie team has all but come out and said that voting for Trump was a racist act, now you essentially must also vote the correct way.
The "ally" communications channel is nothing but a DNC planning channel. The very thought of being forced to support socialist candidates and causes caused my BP to spike 30 points at the Dr this week (normally I'm quite healthy in that regard).
I thought the CEO navigated the whole BLM thing well by supporting much more neutral charities, but apparently the underlings went full true believer.
I've already filed ethics complaints (like it will do anything--HR never gives 2 craps about anything) about the blatent violatations of Campaigning on Company time (Rules? Leftists don't have to follow the rules! its for the cause man!). Bosses sit in San Fran, so yeah--gonna have a LOT of support there.
I think what really set me off, was the big question of the day was someone 'accidentally' discovered a co-workerer voted for trump and didn't k now how to deal with it and there was a lengthy discussion about how that would trigger certain groups and only certain other groups should openly confront the person. We even celebrated getting Slack icons with our personal pronouns! (I prefer the USMC gender neutral term myself--oddly F***ker was ommited)
I need a new job.
And yeah--this was in F'ing tech support....
If we weren't WFH, I'd slather my laptop with MAGA stickers and Gadsen Flags...
