Rifle Scopes Blowing out a Schmidt & Bender PM II High Power!

Man I'd be all over this, sans the T3. Good deal for anyone who fancy's a T3.

As someone who is about to be in the market for some alpha glass... how would this scope stack up against a Tangent Theta or ZCO? The mag range is so different I'm going to assume its apples to oranges... but just consuming data at point if anyone has data to share (specific to this scope).

The 5-45x holds a special place. It can be used just like any lower-power optic, but with some high magnification available. For me personally, it would be spotting/observation focused, otherwise I'd use it just like a 5-25x. Even with my 5-25x's I am at 15-20x 90 percent of the time. When mirage is strong you won't be able to use it above that power much. If I remember correctly the 5-45x sacrifices a small amount of FOV, if that matters.

The only reticle I would consider getting given the higher powers would be the LRR-MIL if using as an ELR optic. Everyone has their preference though.

There are a ton of Tangent Theta threads on here. I personally say they are neck and neck - perhaps a very, very slight clarity and resolution edge to the TT 525P. The TT turrets are butter-smooth and very well laid out.

ZCO - can't say. I'm yet to touch one myself. Lots of users seem to like them though, rate them right there with the TT.

If you find a deal on any S&B 5-25, S&B 5-45, TT525P or ZC527 your going to be very pleased. Tier 1 optics rarely disappoint. Focus on what reticle you prefer mainly!

We just dropped the price another $300, which puts it below cost now. If ya'll know anyone that might be interested, please let them know and tell them to give me a call.

@AIAW - does S&B have a reticle swap program like other manufacturers? Seems it would be worth it if so with the discount.

ETA: Thread just below I didn't see. $500 for regular reticle, more for Horus

Yeah, it's a little pricey. $500 just gets the reticle tube though, the other $400 - $600 is typically labor. Out the door it averages about $1000 mostly, depending on reticle choice and scope model.
