Night Vision BNVD, Norotos AKA2, and OPS Core issue?

Re: BNVD, Norotos AKA2, and OPS Core issue?

Look at your helmet and pads (if they have them such as the Ops-Core). Many tilt angle issues can be traced to the wrong thickness crown pads being used on the OPS style helmets as well. The different thickness pads can be used to tilt the angle of the helmet in your favor a bit. I know with the 21's even with the new Wilcox mount hey came out with, it's critical I wear the right sized pads with the 21's to get the tilt angle correct on my melon.

Also, the BNVD's do sit at a slight angle.

Re: BNVD, Norotos AKA2, and OPS Core issue?

this is some of the things I had done to make all kinds of diffrent goggles work for me, swaping around the pads like Vic already posted , but Most of the time when I have problems like you describe the mount is not at the proper height to allow the tilt to work correctly, but something's just don't work together, but try these methods and if they don't work a custom wedge may be in order.
Can you adjust the acme ajuster higher to allow you to have the tilt ajustment on the AKA2 more centered of closer to your preference? Also there are three mounting locations on the base plate the AKA2 held by two phillips head screws if you run out of travel on the vertical acme adjuster see if you have room to unbolt and move it to the next holes to adjust and maybe you can get the Tilt travel where you want it ..

Re: BNVD, Norotos AKA2, and OPS Core issue?

We make a mounting block that changes of the position of the Navy Dovetail mount on the BNVD. This allows you to get the goggles closer to your eyes. As for the tilt issue, could you post a picture of what your dealing with?

Here is a picture with an INVG mount which mirrors the AKA2s geometry. As for the BNVD sitting at an angle? I don't know what that means. Every surface on the BNVD is built with 90 degree right angles as such there is NO tilt Imparted into the mounting of the goggles. All tilt is in the mount.

I'm going to have to adjust the mounting holes because I have the acme adjuster bottomed out and that might be my problem

How do I get one of these blocks?
