Does anybody know a gunsmith in the Dallas area that can install a bobtail on a 1911? The only factory guns I know of are Kimber and Ed Brown that offer the bobtail.

You dont install the bobtail.... it is actually machined into the frame. Almost every major custom pistol maker offers them now. Nighthawk, Ed Brown, Wilson, several others.

I'm sure he's looking for a gunsmith that will cut the frame and fit an Ed Brown MSH.
TheShooter: Whatever you do, stay away from Advanced Gunworks in Roanoke, they make nice 1911's but take FOREVER to complete work, and have shitty customer service. My family has had dealings with them, never again. I'm looking for someone local to do a bobtail on my Colt, so let me know if you get any good suggestions that are not in the thread please.
