The liberal press had the democrat ahead like 11+ points. And then gets stomped by 8 points. When will the press/liberals ever be honest when it comes to a poll? Never. Democrats are DONE. Stick a fork in that party of traitors. What are they now, 0-3 in "special" elections since Trumps victory? All of which they had the democrat well ahead in the polls. And every republican victory they call it, "controversial". They'll be losing a lot more seats come 2018 as well. "Controversially" of course. With "backlash" and "fallout".

I don't know the facts here, some sources say he kept a narrow lead throughout the race, but I don't know which is true. But, the polls today are typically skewed towards a false lead for the Democrat. The Democrats and media have so successfully colluded into shaming anyone calling themselves "conservative" or Republican, that we no longer answer polls and don't tell them anything. They can rot before I'll participate. Funny little consequence, they are such victims of their own success that they've lost their ability to calculate accurately.

Democratic party nationally is at its weakest point in what, like 100 years? Pathetic. And they still pretend theyre the majority.

And the Republicans act like they apparently believe them. But you have to be careful about the "weakest point" thing and thinking you can stick a fork in them. These things are cyclical and swing on a pendulum. People were saying the same thing about Republicans not that long ago. People in general (and especially Independents, who decide elections) get tired of the party in power after a while and decide to give the ball to the other guys. The way the current crop of Republicans have disgraced their party and the new President, I wouldn't count the Dems out by a long shot.

Oh yeah....still a lot of republican traitors as well. We'll clean them out as well. Arizona really dropped the ball though with McCain. You should be ashamed.

As for the amount of money Pubs spent in Montana, you may want to rethink that $5 estimate, and ought to sit down when you hear the actual facts. Dems raised MILLIONS off this race, but spent only around $500k in the state. Pub PACS spent $5 million+ to keep the seat. Sorry if that reality check interferes with the attaboys being passed around, carry on if you must.

The article says that the Dem candidate raised "over 6 million in just a few months." I'm assuming that's in-state donors vs. DNC and PAC money that you are referring to? Either way, it would appear "someone" spent way more than 500K on the election, or am I missing something?

Sir, the only people attending a victory party in a off year special election are HIGHLY political people, who're VESTED in the candidate's success. The idea that a highly political donor or supporter being representative of the State of Montana is a stretch to put it mildly.

The vote was NEVER for Gianforte, but a vote against the Dems. Gianforte is a child who deserves as much contempt as the press, disappointing so few can't see past their hatred for the press and not try and defend the indefensible.

The real story is how a Republican almost lost Montana, that's what a loser Gianforte truly is.

Body slamming someone who is invading your space, and refuses to quit doing so, is indefensible in your mind. Have fun in unicorn land. I can think of tons of perfectly good reasons too body slam someone. They mostly all revolve around someone having to be asked twice, to do something they should not have had to be asked once to do.

Trump won by 20 points because voters showed, turn out is always small in special elections. I am sure none of those millions that went to Montana from out of state helped commit any voter fraud either.
