Does anyone know of anything along the lines of an AR-10 upper that is actually bolt-action? What are the chances that someone makes something like that?

Not exactly what you're looking for but if you want to duplicate the ergonomics of an AR, this will do it.

That's actually kinda' cool. Is it a magazine-fed contraption? What exactly is it? I've never seen anything like it. It's an interesting looking firearm. I wonder what the expenses would be when it comes to building something like that.

Okay, maybe what I'm looking for is a tube gun. Is there anyplace I can go to find information and sources to build one for fairly inexpensive? I'd love one in .308 but know nothing about them.
Please help me.

It's a tube-gun. A M700 or clone action is inside the tube. The tube takes an AR buttstock and grip.

try xlr industries they have some awesome gear and are very competitively priced for a .308 the stock wll only weigh a shade over 3 pounds

Those things are way cool. I might just have to consider one of those XLR Chassis options for my next build. They are pretty dang interesting looking!

I actually have been thinking about the same thing. I have great design I just don't know that there'd be that much interest in it.

The thing that is the most appealing to me about the XLR, is the super ease of disassembly. I am forever taking apart my rifles and doing something to them. XLR would be about the only modular type chassis that I would consider.
One of these days... I will have my own!!
