I have a stilla predator rem 700 action but it has the factory rem 700 style bolt handle and knob. I have a bolt threaded for 5/16 - 24 thread. Does anyone know if the rem 700 style factory bolt handle is to small to be milled to fit this thread pattern? If not, what are my options?

Re: Bolt knob fitting

I think thats what the Badger knobs are. Like stated above it will work with a factory bolt handle.

I would recommend having someone do it unless you have the RIGHT tools.

I did my own (first one, before I bought a lathe and a mill) with a hack saw, grinder, dremel tool, file, and a die. Basically turned the factory knob portion, into a threaded shaft.
Took me about 5hrs. and it wasn't great. Not bad, but not great.

Yachtee,

It can be done with a few hand tools and a grinder like Teggy1 stated above but usually does not come out looking too good.

Do you have access to a lathe and or mill machine? If not, I would strongly recommend you spend the couple bucks to have it done by a professional. There are more than a few people here on the Hide that are more than capable and do excellent work.

AZ Precision immediately comes to mind but there are others. Most show pictures of their work. See who has the turnaround time and price range you can live with.

Hope that helps.
