Gunsmithing Bottom metal HELP!!!!

Hey gun gurus, im in need of some more wisdom. so here is my problem. i have two rem 700 senderos, one is 22-250 with the factory hsp stock (BDL), and the other is 7mm rem mag with bdl mcm a4. Im to the point now where i want both rifles to have nice functioning bottom metal but im having a heck of run around finding hard facts and numbers suggestiong that any of the readily available DBM kits will work for both the 22-250 and my 7mm Rem Mag (i would like them to match since they're sisters ya know :)). just a side note eventually there will a matching mcm A4 on my 22-250 as well. Any help/wisdom here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton guys/gals of the hide!!

Re: Bottom metal HELP!!!!

get ahold of any of the vendors here

hooper/ cdi/ seekins/ badger/ ptg can all fix you up

22-250 is based off of 308 7mm will be la

mag lips may need tweaked but you will be good to go with aics/ aplha mags for a dbm setup

if not dbm
bdl for sa and la will work

I say
PTG
badger m4
williams

I have sunny hill and dakota although they are nice i will ot be etting more of them ( inlets more common for bo and others)

That does not look like any badger I have had through my shop.
That looks like a PTG to me.

HERE is badger's picture and all the ones I have installed looked like this:

Here is Midway's picture of a PTG:

It's the Badger Mini Chassis, it came with the Manners stock, from Stocky's.

Re: Bottom metal HELP!!!!

Mini chassis is part of the stock and has a cross bolt through the stock. Does you stock have and v-block in it or is it raw fiber? This is a picture lowlight took.

Actually, I got the Badger/Stealth M-5 detach mag system. I thought it was the mini chassis, oops. Still a nice piece of bottom metal.

Here's the description from Stocky's:REMINGTON 700 S/A R/H, BADGER/STEALTH M-5 DETACH MAG SYSTEM, SENDARO/VARMINT, I believe they mean Badger style, of course Stealth is PTG brand, dont matter, I like PTG stuff.

Re: Bottom metal HELP!!!!

That is different, ptg makes good stuff but is quite a bit cheaper than badger. If they represent and price it as badger then that would be no bueno. But since it is marketed at ptg stuff then all is well.

Re: Bottom metal HELP!!!!

Just researched this last week. Stocky's offers their own "M5 Stealth" bottom metal which as noted above, is likely a re-branded PTG. While it is the same inlet as the Badger M5, a Badger product it is not.

I ended up going with an RD Precision Rad Tac from Randy and it's a perfect fit (w/ pillars) for my Manners MCS-TA with the M5 inlet.
