If I live in the City of Boulder and owned an assault weapon prior to June 15, 2018 can I keep it?

Any person who, prior to June 15, 2018, was legally in possession of an assault weapon shall have until December 31, 2018 to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:
  • Remove the assault weapon from the City of Boulder;
  • Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable;
  • Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the Boulder Police Department for destruction; or
  • If eligible, obtain a certificate for the assault weapon

What if I own them now, but don't live in Boulder. But for some fucked up reason feel the need to in the future?
Again I repeat, the list of retirement localtions is fading fast.

The big problem is not Boulder’s likely to be overturned ban. It’s that,just like when we fought the last round of gun laws Colorado has turn solid blue. A Statewide ban is likely on the agenda next year and the State’s preemption of Boulder could be the spark.....

Better hurry also. Due by the 27th but they will be closed 24-31st. So really 23rd is your last day.
https://bouldercolorado.gov/police/firearm-certification

A background check will be performed to ensure that the weapon holder is legally able to be in possession of the firearm. Once the background check comes back clear, two certificates per firearm will be filled out by hand and given to the person registering the firearm.

The cost of this service is $20.00 for the first firearm and $5.00 for each additional firearm during the same certification. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card. The police department is only able to accept Visa and Master Card.

The police won't inforce this, just like the 15 rd mag limit was a huge fail in CO. There will be maybe a few hundred people that line up for this, but 10s of thousands won't.

Shows that stamped items don't apply? So... any actual "assult weapon" (m16 or other auto rifle) would already be on that NFA list.

So not sure what there reasoning is of doing all off this nonsense? Besides trying to scare people into getting on a list for the time of an out right ban at a later date.

What a crock. What kind of candy ass is going to register?
Believe I’d say I own modern sporting rifles, no assault weapons. Phraseology and definitions are key.

Edit: I’d also want background checks on the “moms demand action” chicks. Find out who they are and who’s funding them.

Imagine if folks like you moved there and I never left. Magpul too. Avoiding these states is part of our undoing.
Ha, I have lived in Illinois for 36 of my 40 years. I've watched it get steadily worse, and I'm looking for the way out very soon. I'm not one to run from a fight, but I believe my state is too far gone to save. Unless we divide Illinois at I-80, there is no hope here. I might as well go somewhere friendly to my views before I end up a felon for not following a new unconstitutional law.

I used to be of the persuasion that we could all just be happy and let everybody enjoy the freedoms they wish so long as they respected ours and everybody could just get along. Now I'm seeing every day that nope, need to get rid of them or firmly keep them under the boot.

The hippie type in CO got to have all the pot they wanted... so were they nice and happy and thankful & about to let everybody else do as they wished? NOPE, they want to take your guns away because they don't "like" them and if you don't agree, they want to send other goons with guns to kill you over it. So one day we may just have to repay the favor to balance the scales.

Well I hear you but in the end its like having a hole in your boat and moving to the other side. The ship is still sinking. Gays (the Spartans of political & cultural warfare) didn’t fight that way.... I did it, ran but I’m just seeing us cede ground and thinking if this were a real war would we fight this way? I personally have paid a big economic price to cede that ground to the Marxists, not to mention I was born in Colorado.

Wonder how many will actually certify?

None, I hope! But it appears that there is at least 85 idiots with no balls.

We are running out of places to go. I always wanted to moved to Colorado, it's off the list nowdays.

Thats the problem, everyone wants to move. People need to stand their ground and fight. Don’t be like the fucking illegals claiming their homes suck because they let them get that way and the run away only to bring the same fucked up shit with them that they were running from.

A blue house, a blue senate, a blue governor mansion, and a blue AG office. Who is going to look out for us in Colorado? I guess it has to be us...

The problem I have now is with 2 little kids, I don’t want to subject them to this BS. For me to fight, OK. Little kiddos do make you consider to move away, for their own sake.

Me too! Wait i forgot the pound sign. ?

Im stuck in CO by shared custody. Cant leave my kiddo, wont force her away from her mom (can't live with her and she is a good mom). My new lady is in the same boat or I would be buying on AJ’s street in TX.......
Will make the best and keep following AJ’s advice.

Off to buy more of something.......

It's not the pound sign. It's a sharp!

Seems more ridiculous to say sharp to me. Makes the kids cringe more.
