Bow string

There’s no time/reason to go full draw on a lot of shots so the Oneida shines in snap shooting for me. Also having one string/cable like a recurve is nice with nothing extra in the way. Some guys call them nut slappers, but who the fuck draws a bow squarely in the center front of their body where that can happen? Retards is who.

I shoot mine instinctive sights are pointless on bow fishing setups with moving targets, refraction, and depth all considered. I’ve shot jumping fish out of the air snap shooting.
Wow. Id have to see some vids of people using it on fish. I could immage shooting fish in super clear water on flats. I dont think id be good at instinctive since I always used sights. Ive shot recurves but im not like annie oakley. I could never shot pistol like that and had issues with a bow instinctive. Sounds cool

Yes you could it’s just like anything else, practice. I used a slingshot as much as my bow for practice

My newest bow is from 93, so...
It's sat unused for longer than a lot of our members have been alive.

A 300fps arrow was unheard of, even with an overdraw setup.

Overdraw? What in tarnation is that? 😆

I have a few old Martin's in the garage with the overdraws. Fury with a brace height of about 3"...
What freaks me out is the let-off so high you can hang the drawn bow from the string….nah dawg. You twitch and it fires still obviously

If you can’t steadily hold back 50-70 with normal let-off you need to hit the gym. I shot 70 all day(shot a couple hours daily), but how are guys hitting anything with bows they can’t handle?

You can manipulate that.

I set my draw length on the cams at 29.5", and pull the draw stops in to 29.25". Gives me about 50% instead of 80%, extra 10fps, and I can hold steadier.

I prefer a normal recurve for bow fishing. Oneida is an overly complicated contraption that's heavy as hell.

Well I was huge into bow fishing (out several night a week)and most guys who do shoot a lot and do well in tournaments use them or a copy. Old oneidas are heavy the newer ones aren’t at all, and they aren’t complicated.

Most people just want to buy a cheap PSE it’s the savage of the bow fishing world “it’s just as good”

Fly fishers. I was at the lake one day slaying some crappie and walleye in a small cove. A couple dudes with fly rods ask me if I mind if they fish the cove too. The two jerkoffs go stand 10 ft on either side of me and block me out of 80% of the water I am fishing. The entire time they are bragging about how much harder fly fishing is.

Bowfishing is for trash fish. Can't be used on game fish most places.

But you go shoot a 25 lb carp and let me know how un-fun it is.
Haha! Lighten up a little. I was playing. I bow hunt, but I’ve never gone bow fishing. I’ve got a couple friends that have tried getting me to, but I seriously don’t have time for another hobby when I don’t even shoot my rifles enough.
