Brass neck after firing

So I was looking i inside the necks of the brass after I cleaned them and noticed what almost looks like rust colored crap on the inside of the necks. Not sure what it is but im thinking it's whats preventing the bullet from sliding into the case cause even with lube my expander mandrel was sticking like crazy. It's whatever but I've not seen this crud inside a neck before. Especially a clean neck. Very interesting to me

I don’t think that’s it given the numbers you posted.

Another cause could be your neck is out of round. Measure the neck again in several places. Spin it in the caliper jaws.

It’s normal in any case that’s been fired. It has nothing to do with your dimensional issues.
