I've heard from several that scrap brass price is approaching $2/lb. Is this a localized market thing, or a nationwide trend?
I have my scrap bucket, but for upwards of $2/lb, I may forgo all the prep I do on the brass I sell, and even sell off the extra prepped brass I already have. I usually get $50/1K cleaned and polished. Since 1k brass weighs ~13.5#, I could get $27 for rough brass, and not have to fiddle with cleaning, marketing or mailing.
Sounds like a wise way to go.
Is anyone else seeing a market rise in brass?
