I am trying to stock up on 260 rem brass. Problem is, all I can find is 7mm-08 and 243 from Remington and Winchester. So far I have 100 cases of 243 Winchester, 50 cases of 7mm-08 Winchester, 50 cases of 243 Remington, and 50 cases of 7mm-08 Remington. All of these cases have been resized to 260.
Now I know not to mix head stamp, but what about different caliber? For example, will the 243 and 7mm Winchester brass differ enough to the point that I shouldn't mix them? I weighed and measured 10 cases from each bag and they all measured out very similar in weight and wall thickness. Common sense would tell me that they would be exactly the same during manufacturing, just sized to different calibers. Or am I completely wrong?
This rifle will be a 1000yd NRA prone rifle if that has anything to contribute for this.
As much as I would like to, I can't justify buying lapua brass right now.
