    Look at the speed that thing was coming in from the Ring cam. They DEFINITELY were not trying to land.

    ETA: That plane was loaded with fuel too. From preliminary it looks like they were aiming for something, possibly the mall. Timing would be peak shopping time, with workday over, and a holiday (Valentines) coming up.

    It was probably flying ~300mph which is about 450fps

    A Learjet can cruise at like 500mph

    Anybody remember the Learjet that deoresurized and killed the crew? Was like 20-30 years ago maybe this was similar

    Remember the Learjet that went down in Mexico city killing the vice president I believe it was in 2008. The pilots had faked their certs.
    Pilot Martín Olíva and co-pilot Álvaro Sánchez[13] were not certified to operate the Learjet 45. The investigation concluded that both pilots had received fraudulent certifications: Captain Olíva lied about the number of training flights he had made, and had issues on the few training flights he did complete, while Captain Sánchez lied about being a Learjet 45 instructor. Both men had taken advantage of a corrupt system to get false training documents and some unsigned Learjet 45 certification forms from their flight schools.

    News has said it was a medical flight (Learjet) with a patient being six years old intended to be transported to Missouri. Total number of passengers six. Medical oxygen can be a tricky combustible.

    It actually functions as the Muslim version of "Oh my God" during times of extreme stress or emergency. Islam is a fatalistic religion, with many followers believing that most courses of events cannot be changed and is the literal destiny of Allah. During the Beirut warehouse explosion, you will hear a lot of Allahu Akbars being yelled while that blast wave was coming at them. Same with traffic accidents and the like. The phrase is basically an expression of fatalistic acceptance of imminent death, sickness, or injury. During a fast moving apartment fire in Midwood, Brooklyn, a few years ago, an Arab man thought he was trapped inside as the flames spread down the hallway. Thinking he could not escape and "his fate was to die that day", he just stood by a window and kept saying "Allahu Akbar" over and over again until a group of frat boys coming out of a party across the street to see what was burning saw the man at the window with smoke starting to pour out of other windows next to his. They climbed up the fire escape, smashed the glass, and carried the guy out into the street. They, along with other bystanders converging at the scene, also helped a few more families get out safely. Everybody was okay and a few people suffered minor injuries. The Arab dude tried to pay the frat boys as gratitude for them saving him but they declined to accept.

    Seems to align to what @JAS-SH said above you too. Engine could have sucked in a drone that had been flying around, grenaded and took out the tail section.
