Current word so far was a man had been building a "quantum physics generator" in his garage. Authorities are leaning towards possible small reactor type device. Man was burned in an accident involving the device and the nature of the burns prompted firefighters to treat this as a possible nuclear emergency.

The type of burns caused confusion among first responders, prompting a precautionary evacuation of about 40 homes.

He must be pretty smart to build a nuclear reactor in his garage, at best all I could build was a 57 chevy.

If we judge this by the accuracy of most stories by the MSM and the knee jerk reactions of local authorities.
It will most likely turn out to be a 2 liter of Pepsi he dropped some mentos in and then stumbled backwards when it reacted and burned himself on a space heater.

I pinched my thumb changing lawnmower blades in my garage earlier this year...those of us who are “ultra smart” do get careless now and then

I've heard of a few folks who have built different reactors in their garages. Pretty neat stuff but not for the careless. Him saying "radio frequency burns" makes me think he isn't just careless but profoundly fucking retarded.

Fucking around with improperly rigged magnetrons can do that. He was probably trying to build some microwave ray gun or something to that effect. Neighbors are not going to be too fond of him after today...

His new neighbors will be long term residents...Cell Block D.

If they "magically" find "hate", or "right wing", or "white nationalist" literature while searching his home, a cellblock may very be what he is facing. Now on the other hand if they find ANTIFA shit all over the place he's gonna be treated like a celebrity.

Yea, who the fuck knows what his "quantum physics generator" actually is/does. I think he knows just enough to be a fucking retard and that's about it. It's legal to buy uranium and other unrefined radioactive fuels, but safe bet this dickhead just built a little hillbilly magnetar in his garage and gave himself microwave, x-ray, and gamma radiation poisoning.

Bomb Squad Investigating Report of a Possible Small Nuclear Reactor Inside a Garage in Columbus, Ohio

The man reportedly told bomb squad that he sustained “radio frequency burns” while working on a “quantum physics generator” in his garage

    That's not how this works.

That's not how any of this works...........

I am leaning towards an amateur magnetron shenanigan gone awry. The idiot probably binge-watched too many backyard chemistry videos on Youtube and there is also no shortage of people doing stupid shit with microwaves on there too.

A few years ago, some guy in upstate NY watched too much Forged in Fire and decided he wanted to build his own forge and start making blades like how they did on the show... With absolutely NO prior metallurgy or blacksmithing knowledge except what he got off the TV. That is exactly what he told investigators later too.

Ended up burning down an entire apartment complex and making over 100 residents homeless. It was a miracle that no one was killed.

Did this guy have pointy ears and try to put a death grip on any of the officers? :)

If he had truly breached the quantum level? He would know the cops were coming and would have bought donuts. :)

think its just another boy scout trying out for his eradicate the neborhood badge again
Two decades ago David was propelled into the public eye as 'The Radioactive Boy Scout'. Part boy genius, part dangerous misfit, at 17, he built a nuclear reactor in his mother's potting shed. Today, in an interview with MailOnline, David admits: 'Look, there may have been a few safety issues.Nov 13, 2013 talk about dedication to obtaining all those badges . boys just wanna have fun too.

I've seen some of the best in the wireless industry get their ass burnt the fuck up with RF. I wish they would release a photo of what he was playing with. Did I miss what his day job is or was?

I've just now looked through the police call sheet and can't find anything. I don't know how often they update but the last entry was 12/2. Now I've got to get on ebay and start procurring my CBRNE gear....ugh.

RF burns are surely a real thing, but if he was building a reactor it would have been microwave to gamma radiation which would be burning him— provided he was going about it in a traditional way. Microwaves are in the VHF radio range, but nobody calls them "radio frequency radiation", not that it is empirically wrong to do so though. I'm betting that in this individual's case it's basically like him calling frostbite "water burns", he clearly was not detecting or shielding, and doesn't seem to have a good explanation for what he was even doing at all.

This is the last that I found on this. The only local military I know in the area is the local National Guard Armory just across from Don Scott airport.

    From the news:

Alpha waves is a red flag term. Several things in his call prompted concerns of radiation

Officials said the caller used terms like "radiation," "particle accelerator" and "alpha waves," which prompted concerns. No meters picked up on anything harmful during the investigation.

Neighbors who know the man said he is intelligent. They were relieved the night ended how it did.

"I knew he was in the military when he moved in, so he was not home a lot," Kevin Hickman said. "He seems like a straight-up kind of guy, a down-home kind of guy. A really nice kid."

5 bucks says he was doing that wood burning shit with microwave parts.

Fucking retards. I know a guy who killed himself doing that shit.
Probably so. I looked at doing some of that shit as i dabble in woodworking. Read up on it and when i got to the part that said “ it is recommended that medical personnel be near”. I said fuck that shit!! Its neat but it aint get you dead neat
