One thing that is badass is that the tripod head acts as a clamping jigging fixture for welding, just turn down some aluminum to fill the barrel and gas tube holes to keep aligned and bingo bango

Sounds like some personal experience dabbled in that statement
For me these kit guns are multi purposeful. Probably most important to me is I really enjoy the project of them, the seeing how old time systems work, some of which are amazing how they came up with them back then (vickers for example). Another is the history nerd in me feeling like a saved something from sitting in some goobers warehouse in a box all chopped up. Also the puzzle aspect, as I convert all mine to semi auto it’s a lot of fun to figure out how to do a legal conversion on something that was never intended on that platform.
If they could revoke the Hughes Amendment, we would be building and registering FA.Semi Auto?
And you said the ADL was gay…..
But since 1986, there has been no way to register a MG... short of being a CIII Manufacturer/SOT/All kinds of acronyms...
So we want to keep some of this history firing, we have to do it with semi's.
Maybe in our lifetime SCOTUS will find NFA or HA unconstitutional. But I doubt it. So, we'll be happy with the AR-15 version of a Beltfed... because we can't have a happy button!

Tripod restored, I broke the fine adjustment knob on disassembly so had to turn a new one. Magpul OD cerakote has been my go to color for all the old era war guns, wonderful OD color. These tripods are actually interesting and well designed and manufactured pieces.

Really wasn’t too bad time wise. Reason, well I just wasn’t happy with how I was trying to align and hold everything straight with the exception of that first section, that part was held in place flat, straight and locked down and couldn’t move.
Also, if I was to do a second…….or it can always be a loaner/renter contraption

Modified ear bolt grabby piece to accept my manufactured disconnector
Chopped off the ears on the bolt, so no more open bolt bits
Fabbed guide rod(for new striker) housings, fabbed striker, cut down bolt tower

Big Stupid is ready for test fire next time I make it to the range. Bench test on everything seems like it should work fine, feeds the strip, pulls rounds chambers and re seats brass, striker system fired a primer, so we should see
