For anyone on the west coast there's the British Columbia tactical rifle championship in June, which is held at a military range in southern BC close to the Canada US border. The event is three days of shooting fun - 75m to 600m, and there's also a 3-gun match. The 1st day is sight-in, the 2nd day is police environment (75m - 300m), the 3rd day is military (300m - 600m). This is a great match. For more details contact the British Columbia Rifle Association - [email protected] (www.bcrifle.org). The match is on June 19 - 21. There are a limited number of slots.

That's my match. I have been meaning to put a post up. How did you find out about the match?

For more information you can also go to www.bctacticalrifle.com for entry forms and a copy of the course of fire.

It is a good match that challenges the shooters to operate outside of their comfort zone. This really exposes the shooters weakness in certain situations and can help them developmentaly.

We are limited to 96 shooters and have Military, Law Enforcement and Civilian competitors from all across Western Canada and the NorthWestern US.

The winning team last year was from the Calgary Police Service, Tactical Response Unit. The previous two years were won by Vancouver Police ERT.

Pretty stiff competition and it isn't very often that civvies get to go toe to toe with the pro's to see where they stack up.
