Considering building a backpack/road trip pistol. The Brownells shorty has piqued my interest. Mated to an MCX folding stabilizer, it’d be light, compact and could fire folded if needed. Anybody have one or had some time behind one? They’re pretty new, so real (not paid) reviews are hard to find. Also, what’s the better search engine for the forum? I seem to have lost the link and my google-fu is weak. Thanks.

I bought one and waited 3 months for delivery.
As soon as I got it there was a couple of issues I had. Looked at the barrel with a borescope and it looked like it had over 100 rounds through it!
Call Brownells and talked to tec.
Explained my concerns. He said no problem, try it out and if you don't like it send it back.
I wasn't able to try it out for a while but when I did it was a total disappointment!
Shot one box of Wolf Gold, one box of PMC, and about 20 rounds of handloads and nothing cycled! Called Brownells back and asked for an exchange. They said no problem an that they had some in stock.
Shipped it back.
Called and told them later that I didn't get a shipping notice.
They told me it was on backorder ?!
Wasn't willing to wait 3 more months I cancelled my order and they sent my money back.
I really wished it would have worked out.
Maybe someday I'll try again but not at this point.
I do not know what the problem was but I just didn't want to go down that rabbit hole.
Maybe they have got the bugs worked out? I still have a lower waiting for one?! Anyone that has got one recently hope you chime in here.

That is disappointing to hear. I saw that they ran out of the first run and are back ordered again. Hopefully the next batch fixes the bugs. I’m going to keep my eye on them and see how the next batch fares. It’s a want, not a need right now, so I guess I can be patient...maybe.

I never wrote a review on Brownells site. I did go back and read some of the reviews and they were mixed.
I think I could have received an exchange but don't know for sure. The barrel was lined with heavy copper one end to the other. I striped the copper out before I shot it but didn't look at it before I sent it back.
