While shopping around for a 30mm 1-piece mount for a backup scope, I noticed that the Brownells and Midway AR-Stoner mounts look awfully close to the Warne X-Skel, although without some of the lightening cuts and additional machining work. All 3 are advertised as being made in USA.

Anyone know if they are actually made by Warne? I haven't seen any other US-made mounts which look that close to the Warne.

Can't say who makes them. I have seen the Warne comparison before. What I do know is that I have had a couple of the AR Stoner mounts and they have been excellent.

I bought a Midway ar-stoner mount and it was a turd, it was machined slightly undersized so a 30mm tube could not fit so
back it went. The brownells is heavy duty.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit. I picked up a budget Vortex a while back on combo Brownells pricing with one of their mounts. It seems every bit as good. When it fails, it fails and I'll admit it's junk. Until then, it's proving itself just fine and the price was definitely right.
