Brownells changed their “forever guarantee” return policy

My most recent experience was getting a hazmat shipment from them. FedEx would only attempt delivery in the middle of the day during the week. They were trying every which way to get FedEx to either wait until the weekend or deliver at night but FedEx was too lazy. They then offered to have it returned and they'd ship it (for free) to work if my job allowed it or to a FFL to hold onto for me. In the end, they had FedEx hold it at a location that stores hazmats and I drove an hour away to pick up my stuff.

Sucks to hear you weren't satisfied with their current policy, but I've really enjoyed their customer service.

I had the same problem with them. For some reason I just had a string of bad luck timing on a Fedex powder shipment from Brownells. I couldn't be home on the 3rd attempt so I called Fedex to see if they would hold it. Fedex stated Brownells set the delivery so I could not request that it be held. When I called Brownells they said they would set it to be held with Fedex but never did. Luckily, while Fedex said they would not try to deliver a 4th time, they did anyway and I got it but decided never to buy anything hazmat from Brownells again. I have had other hazmat items from Fedex get delivered and held for pickup with no problems at all.

I don't use them very often. About ten years ago, I screwed up a free-float tube. Jumped online, ordered a replacement and requested next-day delivery. Plan was receive and install Thursday, zero Friday and shoot Saturday (match). Grabbed it from the UPS guy, ripped open the box and...it's a used item. Didn't even have all the hardware. Contacted Brownells and the CS rep explained that was "impossible," but they would send another and credit me when I returned the first. Received the replacement five or six days later.

Boy what a dog pile... Come on guys Adam is certainly not Buddly.

Adam..... I still like you bro :) Always been one my bets pals on this forum. Got many an AI from Adam and know you are a stand up guy.

I see what you are saying here.... Despite what you didnt like about the scopes and the time frame. You were always under the assumption their "Forever guarantee" was well forever..... and they only recently changed this without your knowledge and you are simply letting us know that it is in fact not.... "forever" on a Money back return but 45 days ( still.... pretty dang good).

im glad you did get something back. If i need something from them ill PM you and will pay you for it to get you some of your $$ back. They sell about everything.

I've been buying from Brownells for years and have watched them continue to improve and enhance their online buying experience. I've not had a single issue with them and their customer service folks have always been great: by phone, live chat, etc. etc. So, take all the stories told Brownells' haters with a big grain of salt, like the OP's tale of woe, which is baloney, trying to blame Brownells for his stupid choice not to return things until 48 days and just because, "I decided I did not like it."

You do realize that wasn't his choice, that was their policy, right? It's clearly stated in the information I posted above directly from their website. Blaming him for following their policy doesn't seem very fair. You might disagree with him holding something for 48 days and sending it back because he didn't like it, and it might not be something you'd do, but it was clearly THEIR policy, which they had for decades, so I'm not really sure why he's failing, when all he did was follow their posted policy.

Again, you might disagree with it, which is fine, but it's not like he did something wrong or shady. He followed THEIR policy. Maybe you should be saying that Brownell's had a stupid policy for taking things back for the last 20 years? Because you're disagreeing with their policy.
