Friggin' huge order got put on hold by the "web department." CS couldn't tell me anything, and I know that there are no issues on my end, so I XLD the order and put pretty much the same order in through the other guys, save one item they have to back-order. From party no. 2 it was "thank you very much and we'll get cracking." I don't feel like 48 hours to resolve the great mystery, their shipping is slow as shit as it is, and I'd like to have the use of these goods in short order.

The good weather is here and I want to take advantage of it, not wait for them to get around to unwedging their thumb from their bum and packing my shit up for shipment. Grrrrr ...

Sorry to hear it buddy. My Brownells shipment will be here Monday! Free shipping to boot. Midway is the only one that hung me out bad, and that was 'with' Midway priced shipping! Still pay Larry when I need to.

My experience the first would be Brownells and the second Midway. Used both (and many others) over the years and they all have their moments, good and bad.

Ordered a simple little R700 extractor from midway. They shipped it ups innovation. It sat 3 days 200 miles from my house in Lubbock while it changed hands with usps. I can't figure out the whole ups/usps methodology. But like Veer, I have cancelled orders with problems and changed to another seller more than a few times. Supply and demand and all the sellers have this problem.

I can't figure out the whole ups/usps methodology.

My biggest complaint. Some sites default to that method and I occasionally miss it. Never fails, it's it something I wanted by Friday to use/install over the weekend. Shows up on Monday. I don't mind the extra couple bucks for FEDUP delivery.

It's a crap shoot with the listed above.
Sometimes it works out and others don't.
Midways shipping has gotten fucking high.
They know they will be on top of any search for gun parts.
Sinclair/Brownells seem to be the most consistent.

10-15 years ago Midway was pretty damn good. But when they started try to make their profit off "shipping and handling" I shunned them. It is a business practice/model I can not stand. Brownells is excellent.
I also do the normal internet search and had good luck with many places. It depends on what you need but Aim Surplus, PSA, Rainer arms have been good. Also direct from Manufacturer has worked. Seekins, Midwest industries, to name a couple.
Powder I can finally get local again, which is much more convenient.

Midway aggravates me with their shipping. Printing a shipping label doesn't count as shipped if it sits there for two more days.

Mid south shooters supply, Brownells, Bison Tactical, Powder Valley and Grafs are great, no problems with any of them.
Amazon is sometimes an option with things other than powder/primers.

I live in MO and it still takes Midway 5 days (minimum) to get something to me. They are 2 hours from my house. MO residents don't get any kind of break on shipping either. If I want something by Friday I have to order it Sunday night or first thing Monday morning. I don't make any large purchases from Midway because I have to pay sales tax on top of their shitty shipping prices.

It all depends on what I'm looking for. Brownells has been getting better. Their prices used to be significantly higher than everyone else, now they are about the same, and occasionally offer free shipping. Never had an issue with Brownells, and their CS in my experience has been great.

For AR specific parts I've had great experience with Primary Arms, and they have great sales going all the time.

I use the "pay once a year and get free shipping" that Brownells offers now. They are typically very slow to ship, but if I don't need something in a hurry they are my go to. If I order something from Midway it's on my doorstep in 3 days. If I order something from Brownells it is usually just leaving their sort facility after 3 days. I've had good luck with Natchez, Midsouth and a few others as well. I avoid Midway now because of all of the gimmicky crap they do. "Spend $300 and get $30 off!" ***only applies to items not on sale. ****some items are on "sale" 90% of the time.

Midway plays games with coupon code sorry its been used to many times .I sent Larry a email about it.Now they NEVER work.Brownells is top shelf they always have a deal going

Green plastic air bag padding makes me all stabby.

Many moons ago, midway was the place to shop for all things for a great price. Then around the early 2000's they must have got the great Idea to be the next cabelas and added clothing and other non-firearms items and prices skyrocketed and have remained high ever since. So unless the item is on sale it is usually 11-20% higher than else where if you care to looking around. I've never had a shipping issue with them other than quality of packaging leading to a couple broken ammo storage boxes and broke open bullet boxes and crushed snaps on a drag bag. On the storage boxes they sent replacements free of charge, the others I lived with.

I shop around and go with who ever has the lowest price with shipping. 90% of the time that is not Midwayusa. Brownells, Powdervalley, Midsouth and a few other smaller shops tend to get most of my business.
