Pretty interesting, but I would just buy a ADL or a SPS for around the same money.

The reason. Feels like I am getting a bigger bang for my buck, I guess.

The Academy in Victoria, TX has the Rem 700 ADL as well for $349.00....

They prob order in LARGE quantities from Remington to be able to sell them at that price...

Thanks alot. I could not resist the chance to pick one up. Maybe now I can start the process to build the deer rifle that I have envisioned for my sons. My rationale for not breaking apart an ADL to create the rifle fits my bill.

Thought about it, but I want to save up for the Surgeon RSR instead, since I would want to true this factory action anyway. Then instead of spending more money on smiths, I want to try the Rem-age barrel nut system for it with an aftermarket barrel to see how that works out. I just like the idea of doing work myself to save some money and a lot of time...
