Browning X-bolt pro long range

So this spring I bought a browning X-bolt pro long range in 6mm creedmoor. Put a leupold LRP scope on it. I was excited for this purchase.
I bought a few boxes of ammo, federal gold and hornady match. Didnt get great result. Started reloading it, and also not great results. I found 1 reload that would shoot sub moa. Everything else was 1.5-2 inches. So I run 400-500 rounds through it trying to find something decent other than the 1 reload with is only a target bullet (Sierra matchkings).
I finally get fed up, and talk to my local custom rifle builder/gunsmith. He says to call browning. So I call the saskatchewan warranty rep for browning. He agrees that this is not performance outbof a $2500 gun. He emails browning in Missouri (I think). The reply: these groups are within spec, and unfortunately they can't do anything about it. Needless to say, Browning is now on my blacklist.
Anyone else having issues like this?

I used to have an X-bolt, it shot around .75 moa which I was happy with at the time. My dad has an X-bolt that he put in a mcmillan game scout which got it around .5 moa. What does that one good load shoot? I'm assuming you've tried hunting bullets too and not just target bullets? I have heard of your problem before though, surprisingly with the pro version as well. I remember seeing a thread of someone who convinced his dad to buy a pro and was pissed off his son made him spend that much money on a dud.

The one reload is 110gr matchkings, with rl16. It shoots about .75". Ive tried nosler rdf & accubond, Berger hybrid & elite hunter, hornady eldx and eldm, sierra matchking. A few others too

Have you checked your stock over? Is there contact at all with the barrel? Maybe the recoil lug isn't in contact with the stock or the torque settings on the action screws are off.

They are a hunting rifle typically these aren’t made for .25 groups but I am a little surprised you couldn’t get it down to .75 at least. Just worked up a load for my 6.5 the other day pretty happy with it 5 shots 100y. *Inconsistent neck tension, jerked the trigger, cat jumped on my head or whatever everyone is explaining fliers with these days*

My 6.5 PRC X-Bolt Pro soots 1.2 MOA with 140 r. Hornady ELDM (match) ammo, (FACTORY ammo!)
Those were 3 shot groups B/C the thin, fluted barrel gets hot too fast.

Seems you agree. 1.2 moa is pretty shitty.

Yes, I've checked my stock. Everything fits nice. The stock and action are all well fit and smooth. Everything about the gun is good except for how it shoots, which is ultimately the only the thing that matters. My Tikka t1x 22lr shoots as good of groups at 100 yards. I would expect this out of a $500 savage axis, or similar gun, but not a gun that is marketed as "pro long range"

I’ve been surprised to see negative feedback on x-bolts today. I was just about to pull the trigger (pun intended) on a Hell’s Canyon 6.5 CM, having read all kinds of great feedback. I have a BAR that shoots moa, and a BLR that shoots quarter moa, so I figured the latest bolt action from Browning in an inherently accurate cartridge would be a no-brainer. Does anyone want to come to the defense of the Hell’s Canyon and/or plain old x-bolt?

Im bored so I’ll play. I am only speaking in terms of run of the mill buy it off the shelf rifles. It’s the most average gun made they spread their money throughout the rifle decent stock/decent barrel/decent trigger/decent action. Guess how they shoot? Tikka on the other hand has a better action better barrel pos stock so the upgrade capability increases dramatically for not a lot of money so browning has taken the back seat. A good all around hunting gun for a guy with no interest in getting more performance out of his rifle. There are a lot more hunters than precision shooters so they have a good business model. All that to say they will probably still outshoot the user. My 6.5 hells canyon
