I'm sure someone on here can answer my simple question.

Looking at their prices and services sheet.

Bugnut barrel labor $180

Is muzzle threading included in that $180 or is it another $100 for a threaded muzzle?

Good question; I'm wondering the same. I have been assuming that the threading would be another $100 on top of the $180, but I reserve the right to be wrong.

Additionally, I am wondering if their "Magnum" Tikka nut will allow for the use of a 1.20 breech barrel on any T3 action...

its another $100 for threading. I really wanted to give his barrels a shot, but the total came out to around $700. Too rich for my blood when PVA can be had for $500ish

Thanks for the info. Yeah, PVA is probably the best value (button) if you're good with the 26" max length. I was thinking a bit longer for another build. The Bugnut might be the ticket for it.

Apples and oranges...one is button rifled and one is cut rifled. PVA wants an additional $125 for a cut barrel making the cost about the same. Greg Young, aka Bugnut, also lets you select the barrel maker and any contour they offer.

Not the same thing.

Start with same or similar blanks then add in the machining mods. The cost of the barrel blank on the front end is a large factor and cannot be overlooked when attempting to compare delivered barrels ready to mount.

I'm currently shopping around for a barrel for my Nucleus, and Bugholes is certainly on my radar, except I estimated the cost to be $605, not $700:
Bartlein blank: $345
Savage prefit: $160
Muzzle threading: $100
Total: $605.

Did I miss something? What was the cost of your blank?

I’ve got a bug nut setup in 6.5 creedmoor I have been extremely happy with the Setup best of all communications is awesome, lead time was spot on with quote.

There are cheaper options with cheaper matierals.

I’ll pay good money for awesome product and service

No, you have it right. I got that same setup a while back. Greg is the man.

You're forgetting the bug nut itself, wrench, and shipping

Not sure what you mean. The only difference is the Bugnut barrels are, as far as I could tell, all cut rifled. They are both ready to mount - pva for 500-550ish, Bugnut for 650-700.

If you order a PVA cut rifle barrel the you need to spend $100 more. With Greg you pick a barrel from the many manufacturers he has in stock. At the end prices are almost the same with cut rifle barrel. I own many barrel nut systems from both and all of them are wonderful.

I see, I did not realize you've included that in the price. I've got a barloc on order with my Nucleus, so I don't need any of that.
Gotcha - yea i assumed you meant the actual bugnut. So you're essentially looking just at the premium for cut vs rifled in the cost difference over a PVA
