Build a 260 Rem or 6.5x55 Swede?

Hey guys! This is my first post, but I am not a noob. Just a 30 Caliber guy for a long time but I want to get more performance that a .308 Win. So,I gave up my original plan of building a .243 Win for 600 yard competition. There were several reasons. Mostly the barrel burning qualities of the cartridge. I have decided to build either a 260 Rem or 6.5x55 Swede after seeing the BC advantages of the 6.5mm over the 6mm bullets and longer barrel life. This rifle will be specifically for 600 yard competitions. I know that 260 rem and 6.5 Swede are fairly similar cartridges, but is there one that might give me a slight advantage. Barrel life, accuracy, velocity, etc.
