i'm about to purchase a stevens 200 and turn it into a 300blk bolt gun, with the gunshack group by 16.5" ss varmit barrel, and am not looking for optics options.

highest on the list is the Falcon 1.5-5.....any reason i should NOT choose this? rwsnyder has it for $180....so it's cheap and falcon's generally get decent reviews. I like it because it's 1/10 mil and 2nd focal plane...with a nice reticle with an illuminated circle and hash marks...

if this isn't ideal...would there be something better? Trying to keep it around/under $300

I thought about this for a while, when I was selecting a scope for my 300 blk. I looked into finding some bdc reticle that would match up in some weird way. No luck there. Then thought about dialing, but who wants to do all that dialing with a 3 foot drop from 100 to 200 yards. Finally decided I just wanted the best glass in my price range, and to use Kentucky windage past 100 yards. I chose the zeiss conquest 3-9 with the z-plex reticle. It was $399 brand new. I have no regrets.
