Building an AR10 rifle

Awhile back I bought a DPMS 308 complete lower from a guy here on the hide. I've been looking at options for finishing the build and I'm lost. I'd like it to look like the SR-25 or SASS, so I think a rail for the foregrip is good. I know I want it be a flat top so I can mount some quality optics. That's where I start to need help.

What kind of barrel? What kind of bolt? I understand you can buy the SR-25 trigger, is it worth it? I also know you can buy a SASS barrel, but as far as I can tell I'll be waiting for about 9 years for it. I'd like to actually shoot this thing before I finish graduate school. I also know that GAP builds an AR-10. I'm hoping to do this from the parts I have, and I don't like the Badger rails. Like I said I want it to look like a bad ass cousin of the SR-25 or SASS. I also want a threaded barrel so I can attach a can or just a flash suppressor. Thanks for the help!!

Re: Building an AR10 rifle

Last December I was thinking about assembling an upper for the DPMS lower I had. I have done this with AR-15's to get what I wanted.

The parts for the upper were available at the time but the cost for the parts was much more than the cost of an assembled upper. I ordered a 308 Win upper from Rguns.net that was backordered and git it 3-4 weeks later. After this Summer I will probably take the upper down and replace the barrel with a cut-rifled 260 remington barrel.

Fultonarmory.com is a pretty good place for parts and uppers if you are interested.

Enjoy,
