Ok. I have quickload. My question is. If I switch from a 175 smk to a 155 berger If I match the fps up with my load should I expect the same performance? Will it group the same as my 175 smk load? I have been lucky so far doing this with powders matching the loads for fps. So I was wanting to know if I could expect the same swapping out bullets. Just for an example I use R-15 and 748 with my 175 smks. I cant remember the exact numbers. Say the r-15 was saying 2,800 fps so I matched the 748 load to 2,800 fps. So far they seem to impact and group the same. But I have only done about 20 rounds each test. Seemed to work. But what do you guys think?

    Re: Bullet swap question.

This is just my experience. I was working up loads for my 223 with a 55 grn bullet. Everthing was exactly the same on my loads except for the brand of bullet. With the Sierra bullets some of my groups at 200 yards I can cover with a quarter. The other bullets were Hornady and the best I could get was a 3 inch group.

    Bullets do make a difference.

Thanks. I am looking for a good starting point thats what I am after. I'll check the .308 loads page and go from there. But thanks again.
