Rifle Scopes Burris Fast Fire?

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

I'm running one on an AR as a secondary sight ( mounted at 1:30 on the hand guard) and it works fine. The only problem I've found is you have to remember to turn it off or the batteries run down, but for the money it's a good unit.

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

I have a few of these on 22s and for that, they're great. For an AR, I'd go with something more along the lines of a Vortex SPARC (own one of these too) if you were on a budget or ideally an Aimpoint T1/H1 (also own a H1).

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

Let me clarify the use. I want to mount this on a 45 degree angle for a backup and close quarter sight with a leupold vxr as the primary. I dont need it unless a target is closer than 25 yards.

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

Thats how mine is set up ( Leupold Mrk 4 main, Burris at 1:30 sighted in at 25 yrds) and it works well for me. Accuracy is good for CQ. It's been a good set for what I do with it. Coyote hunting and competitions. Like I said the only problem is remembering to turn it off. I think Leupold makes one that turns on by motion activation. That might be a good feature to have. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

I have one, and really it isn't bad for the price. I've used the Doctor, Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint, and I run the Fastfire on my Buckmark. If I had to make a complaint about it, it's that it is TOO bright. Not quite as clear of a dot as the RMR or Doctor, but they're a great sight for what I bought it for. Haven't run it in foul weather, so I don't know if it will hold up to that if you're planning on dragging it into the bush.

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

With Docter sights available for 50% off ($250) that would definitely be the way I would go. Never tried a Fastfire but I have a Docter and just got an RMR, and the dot is nicer and the glass is more clear on the Doc.

Where are these for sale for 50% off, please? My wallet's about to get lighter...

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

Med17 I'm running a 2-1/2-10 Vortex with a Burris PEPR mount. I was thinking I could get a Mini Riser and mount the fast fire on top of my base.

My question is will it be too high to be useful. The riser mount is 1/2". And it would be difficult to see my elevation adjustment.
Would it work mounted on my forward ring.

Re: Burris Fast Fire?

I have mine mounted just foward of the receiver on a JP handguard at 1:30 and I'm using a 1/2" riser and it works great for me. Keep in mind though, I tend to use a higher cheek weld than most people. Ive got a Mag-pul stock with a cheek piece thats pretty high. Most people that look thru my scopes have to lower the cheek piece. Also my scope only has a 40mm obj. and where the Fastfire is its pretty close. Dont know if a 50mm obj. could mount the same. Hope that helps
