Re: Burris Fullfield E1?
Have you ever owned an expensive scope, or used one? I'm talking about something that costs 1,000 or more?
I have 2 burris scopes, and won't say they suck because they don't. The fact is they are inexpensive scopes, and anything that is inexpensive is not made with the highest quality because it simply can't be and remain inexpensive.
Both mine have illuminated retical. they are made in CHINA. I don't know how many truly fantastic products you have ever owned that were made in China, but I haven't owned many.
If your budget is limited to that price range, then Burris is a decent option. But you might want to search around for something made in a more reliable country. My Bushnell ELite looks and feels like better quality to me and is in the same price range.
My really good scopes are made by IOR Valdada. To put into perspective, ages ago, and I do mean ages, I used Tasco, Weaver and Simmons on deer rifles. I thought they were pretty good. I compare that to driving my first car, which was a piece of used cr**p, but for a teenager just having a car seemed great. Then I moved up to the nicer scopes like bushnell and it was like when I bought my first new truck, though it was a base model, it felt pretty good. Then I got my first expensive scope an IOR Valdada, and that was like when I first bought a Porsche, everything about it was just so much better than those others it didn't even compare.
If you want light, Burris is very light. Many if not most of the really good scopes are heavy because they are made to last.
