Hey guys, a few of you here helped me decide on the Viper PST 1-4x24 scope to put on my AR (thanks, by the way!). I'm now getting my full rebuild list laid out and I had a question for anyone with experience with the PEPR QD mounts.

What I'm intending to do is when I'm using the rifle out somewhere (range, camping, etc.) I'll have the scope on it. When I have the rifle filling a home defense role, however, I'd like to take the scope off and run irons, as my floorspace is very small (a hair under 800 sq. ft. I believe). Will the PEPR QD mount reliably return me to zero, with me moving it on and off my rifle once or twice a month? The price just kind of concerns me, as I tend to be a "buy once cry once" type, but I'd like to use that saved money to get a front sight that can be flipped down and out of the way.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. Huge amounts of knowledge here!

Re: Burris P.E.P.R QD: Return to Zero?

I have noticed that depending on the sequence of mounting it played a roll. depending on which lever I closed up first and if i pushed the mount flush with rear of notch or front of notch it would be off by a 1/4 inch at a 100. That was close enough for me as I don't hunt or shoot without checking zero, and if it were emergency situation a 1/4 inch at 100 is dead to me. I like the product and think it is underpriced for what it is. Burris really came through on this one. My buddies give me shit about the name when they see it, and if I had removed it or painted it I guarantee they would all buy one.
