Been lurking for a while learning as much as possible. I've read countless comparison threads on the many different scopes out there right now and have narrowed it down to these three. This will be going on a 204 Ruger build that will mainly be used for punching paper out to 250 yards and the occasional crow and prairie dog shooting. I've come to these three scopes which I can get for around the same cost and the reasoning I will break down below. This is the price point I want to stay in as I already feel like I'm over doing it for a 204 Ruger.

Burris Signature HD 5-25x50 - I have not been able to find much on this scope yet, but what I have found seems to be positive. Biggest reason for this scope making the list is I've had good experiences with Burris in the past (had a 4-20 Veracity that I liked) and I can get this scope with a simple fine plex reticle. The one recent video I found suggest that the glass is better quality than some of their older scopes at this price point.

Strike Eagle 5-25x56 - This one mainly made the list because of the 34 mm tube and 56 bell. Clarity seems to fall in line with price point. Vortex's warranty helps here too.

Midas Tac 6-24x50 - This choice is was made based on the many suggestions I've read here. Would love to have the 5-2x56 model but that ups the price more than I want to spend right now. Honestly this was my number one choice for a while and the only thing that was holding me back is for this rifle I dont feel I need the Xmas tree reticle.

So I'm looking for some help in choosing. Ranging reticle and illumination are not required for this rifle. I'm looking for glass quality and decently accurate turrets here. Again the standard plex reticle in the Burris is whats pushing me that way, I just cant find much info on the clarity of the glass. What say the Hide?

Sorry the post went a lot longer than I expected.

I turned a good friend on to the Burris HD last year before elk season for his 6.5 PRC. He bagged a nice bull here in Idaho at 662 yards like 10 minutes in on opening day. Lucky bastard..

The glass in this optic won't disappoint, the turrets are dead nuts. We ran his rifle out to 1400 yards and back without issue.. Its not the kind of optic that gets any buzz here on the Hide due to its reticle selection.

For your use, this scope would treat you great.

Have you been able to compare the Signature HD to the Veracity?

I've not had them side by side. I would say the glass is pretty much the same. The HD is a newer design than the Veracity.

I like the Veracity. Years ago its the scope that got me started on Burris products. But both the Veracity and the XTRII are do for an update. They're great optics, but the HD and the RT series have just as nice glass and features for less.

Awesome, thanks for the information.

Stay away from the strike chicken. Burris hd is a great scope for the price another line u should look into is optica 6 line. Great glass Great value.
I checked into those a little availability seemed low when I last looked. Seen several here that seem to like them. I need to track one down and take a look through it.
