Burris Veracity PH

Bought one. Own Revic mil, moa. Burris cloned features of Revics.
I actually like the clickless turrets, for flat shooting cartridges like 204 ruger, 17 hornet it allows adjusTrent’s to fit flatter portion of trajectory that mil/moa clicks can’t.
quality isn’t up to Revic, but price point is good. also lighter 30/50 mm tube (Revic is 34/56).
I like they have both distance and MOA display options. Revic removed thier MOA feature, Burris retained it
not quite sure how you “true” ballistic engine on Burris.
I’m running it thru its paces now with a 204 ruger, 17 hornet. I have Revic running on a another 204 ruger and it’s been very good, so I’ll have good model to compare

I Tested this on both 17 hornet and a 204 Ruger, ranges 50- 250 (17) , 100-350 (204) on pdog targets. The toughest are pdog peeking out of mound hole with only eyes and area above showing. I adjusted for wind BUT only dialed for elevation I had outstanding results on these tough targets.

I used a silencerco Range LRF, the PH clickless zero was giving me 10 yard resolution on dial as displayed on HUB. Burris claims 1/10 MOA resolution of turret position as measured by optical encoding, and I believe that.
i am testing the PH for possible PRS use. One appealing feature is MOA mode, where the raw position of turret is displayed in HUD. ie, not an adjusted range. That’s handy where you know range, you can dial, observe the turret value in MOA on HUD, along with level indicator while viewing target.

I have run same tests with Revic PMRs, both MOA and MIL versions. i’ll compare different brands if anyone is interested

How does the app work. Does the scope have to be continuously connected to the app? Or can you update atmospherics through the phone and then not have it connected and go out and hunt?

Truing is done on the app. Press Ballistics Icon on the bottom right of the app, select truing. There are several options including Velocity and BC. You can enter corrections to the ballistic curve at any distance. It really simple.

Any more reviews on this scope?
I just put a 4x20 Veracity on a 22LR. The app had the exact ballistic model for Lapua Center-X as will as other 22lr match ammo. I sighted in in with 3 shots. Digitally set my zero to 50 yards. Dialed to 75 then 100 and POI was spot on. Someone asked about truing. That's available and very easy. Everything is very easy. I really like the Level in the HUD. Illumination on the reticle is good but I was indoors. The HUD is perfectly bright and don't think that will be less visible in daylight. The reticle looks great, optic quality is great. Now I'm thinking I can have profiles for different velocity ammo and just dial it in via Bluetooth. This is awesome. Setting the Zero stop was very easy too. Elevation turret does not have "clicks", it's digital and 0.1 MOA intervals. Yep 2.5X smaller than most scopes. I shoot 50 yard benchrest and the bullseye is 0.357 diameter so having finer adjustment should help alot. My other scopes, Nightforce and DNT I can't adjust a perfectly centered POI so I have to hold over that 0.1 or so increment to get as many X's as possible. I'm up to 17X out of 25 to date. Not sure it's a downside but it takes 2450 batteries and uses 2. I know I got them at auto parts store before for a car remote. Just another size battery to carry spares. I am up to 5 sizes. 2450, 2032, 1632, CR1/3N, and 123A's. It is 27.2 oz of weight. About the same as my Nightforce NX8. You can change units to whatever you prefer Meters or Yards and all other units like MPH or KPH are user defined too. You can request enviormental data on the app, seems it pulls it from local weather sites and even wind data which kinda just says it's very windy or not. Good to have it auto enter but manual is also an option. With the ability for truing this could be the most accurate ballistic calculating scope, It's the only one I have tried so maybe all have that option too. Eyebox is good too, not too picky and it shouldnt be at 20X. Reticle is still useable a 4X and I do plan to use it on 6X. That's a new class for benchrest just added. I tried it at 6X and 50 yards and was holding 0.4 inch groups. I will say it's difficult to make out 22 cal holes at 50 yd at 6X. Gotta dial up to see those holes.

I'm anxious to take it outdoors and over 100 yds. Indoor that's all there is. Unfortunetly my outdoor range I'm a member at only had 100 too. I need to find a long distance range near Dallas that's not a 2 hour drive. I have been to many within 3 hours and some really suck! One was two concreate benches on the side of a dirt road where downrange was down the middle of several resideences.

I would say if this scope is allowed for Matches it will be a great addition to the "box of scopes".

Ahh, after only 2 days, the negatives outweigh the positives. The first huge negative is once you set digital zero you are now at your lower limit. The HUD will not go under your zero, meaning if you set zero to 100 yards there's no dialing back to 75 or 50, nada. The turret spins (no clicks, we'll get to that) but the HUD is stuck at 100. Well can ya fix it, yep. Loosen the zero stop if set, dial back and then digital re-zero. All that's easy, but every time you try to communicate with the scope bluetooth it errors, times out, disconnects, and when it finally connects it takes minutes to upload. The re-zero is pretty quick but all other parameter changes are slow. I don't know what situation has time to fiddle. I spent 30 minutes trying to fix this re-zero issue. What happened? Remember there's no clicks, no mechanical resistance to the turret except some friction. It's very sensitive so just a tiny bump will cause movement to elevation. I moved it slightly I guess setting the turret to zero. Now how the heck do you know if you are zeroed. Look at the turret, sure, but digital zero could be anywhere. Ok, turn it on and look at the HUD, sure but remember it can spin quite a bit and still show 100 or whatever you set zero as. I found you can dial until you see 100 change to 99, then you know you are at digital zero. This is very far from foolproof. I returned it and got a conventional scope.

I have two of the original 4-20 Veracity PH and one of the new red ring 3-15.

I have found that the only time i had an issue was when i wasn't following the zero procedure exactly from the beginning when zeroing when i switched to a different rifle. plain and simple don't skip steps. I am not sure, but it also seems to work better when you completely close the app on your phone before going to the second scope, if you are zeroing two scopes.

The 3-15 won't get zeroed till it gets warm out again, but the 4-20's are better than my zeiss v4 4-16 in hunting situations it just has a better reticle for hunting than the ZBR2 reticle... really no surprise. The reticle is just a fantastic reticle for a hunting rifle and plenty fine enough in the center of the crosshair for taking shots on 8" targets at 800 yards. this year i will probably see how it does farther than 800, but i didn't have opportunity to do so.

The first gen 4-20's are both very different from one another in glass quality, one is really good and the other is good enough that i don't feel the need to complain much. even the worse of the two is considerably better than my Athlon Helos 2-12

Uploading the new data to the scope from the app is pretty simple after you do it the first time. It seems to match up pretty well with my strelok data.
I probably have less than (but very close to) 50 rounds through the rifles since the scopes got installed, and no real problems, everything works as it should and about a year and a half later the batteries still are showing full when i turned them on a couple weeks ago. I am pretty excited to give the 3-15 a side by side test when the far northern Minnesota winter subsides. The initial bore sight and quick look through the 3-15 down the driveway seem to be pretty nice, so much so that i just ordered another from the expertvoice flash sale yesterday.
