Took a friend out to gather dope with his 308 and Burris Xtreme Tactical scope today and started off at 350 with a 100 yd zero. Finally got a hit at .7 moa! His first shot was seven feet high dialed at what we thought was 5 minutes. After a few rounds put the rifle up and told him to use mine in this weekends match. Later we found the owners manual, this thing has 1" clicks!! Each click is one moa. Dang that seems awfully course adjustment for a scope. Now the challenge of creating a dope chart for the future.

well, that isn't very informative and rather confusing.
What model scope?
I know that they have some 1/2 moa per click adjustments, but I don't see any current models with 1 MOA adjustment, not saying they don't exist.
Those type of scopes are normally used for low power tactical optics like the 1-4x, though there are other scopes out there.

5 MOA just over 18" at 350 yards.

Hit was at seven clicks. Been in thus game along time and never seen nothing like this. Manual confirms 1" click SFP mil reticle. Yes, I'm familiar with 1/2 moa on low mag optics but this a 6-24x50!

I haven't seen that scope in many years. never owned one, but the 3-12 version hung on for quite a while.
Now I understand the .7 moa reference.
Time to update that scope!
Tell him to look at the Burris 4-20 XTR II.
Looks like you got her figured. I had the 312 and 416 XTR's. I always wanted the 6-24 for the 1 MOA elevation adjustment. I ended up with a M3 mark 4 instead. That was a few years ago. I thought FFP and mils were a euro thing back then. Once someone gets a taste of there ruler being in the same increments as there adjustments, its pretty tough to go back.
Agreed, I began with a MK 4 and then went to all Mil/Mil FFP scopes after more range time and research. Mils fit me better than MOA but the matched system is what is important. I was stumped for a few minutes with this scope. The top of the turret is marked 1/4" MOA but the dials are 1" or 1 moa indicated. We put her up and he will be running my 6.5 this weekend since I have the Dope. Wasn't hard to put him a chart together today now that we know what is going on. We will get out soon and get some accurate data when the weather and time allows unless I talk him into going a new route all together. What is cool I guess is that running JBM with his load (168 FGMM @ approx 2650) he can get to 1075 yds in one rev. I realize the 168 SMK wont do it but the numbers in theory are there. I can see an application for this and is a quick reference system since each click is one moa but still too course an adjustment for my taste.
1000 in one rev was the reason I always wanted it. Now all my scopes get there in 1 rev without giving up much on the fine adjustments. God bless innovation, and those who drive it.
